About

TEDxEvansville is organized by a volunteer group of Evansville-area community advocates, who are moved by the TED experience and committed to spotlighting bright minds and inspiring community members who provoke meaningful conversations and change.

Ideas Worth Spreading

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. TEDx events unleash fresh ideas from local communities. Close to 50,000 talks have been given at 10,000 events since the program launched in 2009. Explore the 10 most-watched TEDx talks posted to TED.com.

At a TEDx event, TED Talks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections. TEDxEvansville is not organized by TED Conferences. It is operated under a license from TED.
